Our Story

Established on July 22, 2025, by Sri Vaskar Moitra in memory of his great-grandfather Late Nim Chand Moitra, the Nimchand Moitra Educational & Social Trust is a Kolkata-based, non-profit organization dedicated to community development. Guided by trustees Sri Vaskar Moitra, Sri Digbijoy Nag, and Sri Anirban Banerjee, the trust focuses on providing free education and scholarships to underprivileged students, comprehensive care and medical assistance for senior citizens, and essential relief for the destitute and disaster-affected. Committed to transparency and impactful outreach, the organization holds official Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approval, alongside Section 12A and Section 80G registrations, ensuring its initiatives legally and effectively uplift society's most vulnerable populations regardless of caste or creed.

Education

We believe that financial hardship should never be a barrier to academic growth and success. To foster educational empowerment, the trust is dedicated to providing free education, scholarships, and stipends to meritorious students from poor and needy backgrounds. Beyond individual support, we actively establish and grant financial aid to schools, colleges, hostels, and public libraries to promote the diffusion of useful knowledge across the community. Through these comprehensive learning opportunities, we strive to equip underprivileged youth with the tools they need to build a brighter future.

The Nimchand Moitra Educational And Social Trust is deeply committed to holistic community development and uplifting the most vulnerable members of society. Our social initiatives provide essential resources such as food, clothing, and shelter to destitute individuals, orphans, and widows. We also prioritize the well-being of senior citizens by establishing old age homes and offering comprehensive medical relief through dispensaries, mobile medical units, and hospital admission assistance. Furthermore, we actively deliver critical aid and on-ground support to communities impacted by natural disasters like floods and earthquakes, ensuring help reaches those who need it most, regardless of their background.
